A video review of the Hey Kids Comics Zine!
A look a both the OG members-only version of the zine, and the current made-by-kids iteration!
We like to think of Hey Kids Comics! as a constantly evolving project. We started out back in 2020 selling comics on the street, followed that up with a kids graphic novel subscription box, opened a brick-and-mortar store, then started publishing comics and most recently launched a comics anthology made exclusively by kids.
Tom from Phoenix Productions signed his kids up to our subscription box, dubbed the Hey Kids Comics Club, pretty early on. That's where the Hey Kids Comics Zine first started before it evolved into the kids comics anthology that it is today. In the video above, Tom shows off his collection of the OG version of the zine, with lots of love for Matt Feazell's Mr. Comics strip (which we have since collected in a single volume available in our online shop). It is such a delight to see all of the issues from 2021-2023 in one place, with amazing covers by Josh Bayer,
, Matthew Shultz, Dan & Jason, Johnny Sampson, and more! Then he moves on to our 2024 relaunch and highlights issue #3 of the Hey Kids Comics Zine, featuring some fantastic comics made by kids age 5-18 and hailing from New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, and the United Kingdom.
But that’s not all! Keep watching for a look at
